  2. Navigate to the page where you want the block
  3. Click Add section or Add block
  4. Look for FitmentPro in the app blocks
  5. Configure the block settings and save

3. Adding Vehicles to Products

There are multiple ways to add vehicle compatibility to your products.

Using the 6-Stage Selector

  1. Open a product in the FitmentPro app
  2. Select Brand (e.g., "BMW")
  3. Select Model (e.g., "3 Series")
  4. Select Platform (e.g., "F30")
  5. Select Variant (e.g., "320d")
  6. Select Year range (e.g., "2015-2019")
  7. Select Engine if needed
  8. Click Add Vehicle
  9. Save the product

Using HSN/TSN Lookup (Germany)

For German vehicles, you can use the registration document codes:

  1. Click HSN/TSN Lookup in the product editor
  2. Enter the 4-digit HSN (e.g., "0005")
  3. Enter the 3-character TSN (e.g., "CAU")
  4. The matching vehicle is automatically selected

Using Templates

Templates let you save common vehicle groups and apply them to multiple products:

  1. Go to Templates in the app
  2. Create a new template (e.g., "VAG MQB Platform")
  3. Add all relevant vehicles to the template
  4. Apply the template to products via bulk actions

4. VIN Lookup (Enterprise)

The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) decoder allows customers worldwide to identify their vehicle using the unique 17-character code found on the dashboard or door frame. VIN and HSN/TSN lookup are available on the Enterprise plan and above.

How It Works

  1. Customer enters their 17-character VIN
  2. FitmentPro decodes the VIN using the NHTSA database
  3. Make, model, year, and engine data are extracted automatically
  4. A multi-level scoring system ensures accurate vehicle matching
  5. The matched vehicle is applied to filter compatible products

Adding the VIN Block

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize
  2. Add the FitmentPro VIN Lookup block
  3. Configure display options (inline or modal)
  4. Save and publish your theme

5. Brand Whitelist (Pro and above)

Control which vehicle brands are visible in your store to provide a focused browsing experience. The Brand Whitelist is available on the Pro plan and above.

Setting Up Brand Filtering

  1. Go to Settings in the FitmentPro app
  2. Navigate to Brand Whitelist
  3. Enable or disable brands based on your product catalog
  4. Changes apply immediately to all storefront blocks

Only brands relevant to your inventory will appear in the vehicle selector, reducing clutter and helping customers find vehicles faster.

6. Bulk Import

For large catalogs, you can import vehicle-to-product mappings from Excel or CSV.

File Format

Your import file should contain these columns:

  • product_id or sku: Product identifier
  • brand: Vehicle brand (e.g., "Audi")
  • model: Vehicle model (e.g., "A3")
  • variant: Vehicle variant (optional)
  • platform: Platform/chassis code (optional)
  • year_from: Starting year
  • year_to: Ending year
  • k_type: TecDoc K-Type number (optional)

Import Process

  1. Go to Bulk Actions → Import in the app
  2. Download the template file
  3. Fill in your data
  4. Upload the file
  5. Review the preview
  6. Confirm the import

7. Templates

Templates are reusable vehicle groups that speed up fitment assignment.

Creating a Template

  1. Go to Templates
  2. Click New Template
  3. Give it a descriptive name
  4. Add vehicles using the selector
  5. Optionally add tags and categories
  6. Save the template

Applying Templates

  • Single product: Open product, click "Apply Template"
  • Bulk: Select products, choose "Apply Template" action
  • Automation: Create a rule to auto-apply based on product attributes

8. TecDoc Integration (TecDoc plan)

The TecDoc plan connects FitmentPro to the TecDoc catalog for professional parts data.

What you can do

  • OE / part-number lookup: Resolve products and vehicles from an OE or part number
  • EAN lookup: Match articles by EAN barcode
  • Article search & links: Search the TecDoc article database and link articles to your products
  • Bulk sync: Enrich fitment for your entire catalog in the background

On the storefront, add the OE Number Lookup block so customers can search by part number, and enable the TecDoc-verified indicator on the Compatibility Badge. The TecDoc AI plan adds automatic AI product categorization — no API key required.

9. Smart Recommendations (Enterprise Plus)

Increase average order value with vehicle-aware merchandising, configured under Recommendations in the app.

  • Cross-sell: Suggest related parts that fit the same vehicle
  • Upsell: Recommend premium upgrades
  • Bundle Builder: Offer vehicle-specific bundles with automatic savings
  • Garage Smart Feed: Highlight and sort products that fit the customer's saved vehicle

Setup

  1. Open Recommendations. Products are categorized and tiered automatically from TecDoc data, keywords and AI as soon as you add fitment — click Auto-Categorize Products to process any that are still uncategorized.
  2. Click Auto-Suggest Bundles for ready-made bundle templates, or build your own by picking 2+ part categories.
  3. Add the Sales Boost, Bundle Builder and Garage Smart Feed theme blocks to your product page.
  4. To grant the bundle discount at checkout (not just show it), open Recommendations → Bundle Checkout Discount and click Activate Bundle Discount. This installs an automatic discount that applies each bundle's percentage when all bundle items are in the cart.

Recommendations rebuild automatically whenever fitment changes and are swept daily for new products. Use Rebuild All Recommendations after a large import to refresh everything at once.

10. Marketing Feeds (Enterprise Plus)

Publish a Google Shopping / Meta supplemental product feed enriched with vehicle compatibility, configured under Marketing Feeds in the app.

  1. Open Marketing Feeds and click Enable feed — FitmentPro mints a private feed URL.
  2. Under Match products by, pick how the feed joins your primary feed (Shopify channel id, Variant ID or SKU) and save.
  3. Paste the URL into Google Merchant Center as a supplemental feed (scheduled fetch) and/or Meta Commerce Manager as a data source.

The feed adds vehicle compatibility as product details and custom labels and never overwrites your titles, prices or images. It rebuilds automatically once a day.

11. Developer API (Pro and above)

The versioned public REST API lets you build custom integrations.

  1. Go to Settings → API Access and create an API key
  2. Query the vehicle cascade (brands, models, platforms, variants, years) and product fitment
  3. Authenticate requests with your API key
  4. See the OpenAPI specification for all endpoints and schemas

12. Troubleshooting

Theme blocks not showing

  • Ensure your theme is Online Store 2.0 compatible
  • Check that the app embed is enabled in theme settings
  • Verify the block is added to the correct page template

Vehicles not appearing in filter

  • Make sure you saved the product after adding vehicles
  • Check that metafields are properly synced
  • Verify Search & Discovery filters are configured

Import errors

  • Ensure your file uses the correct column names
  • Check for invalid characters in vehicle names
  • Verify product IDs/SKUs exist in your store

13. Selling in Multiple Markets

FitmentPro can serve different regional vehicle catalogs. Pick the market that matches the customers you sell to and the whole app follows.

Supported markets

  • Europe (EU): TecDoc / K-Type catalog with HSN/TSN support
  • United States (US): ACES / ePID catalog (Year / Make / Model / Engine)
  • United Kingdom (UK): TecDoc catalog (right-hand drive)
  • Australia (AU): regional catalog

Choosing your market

  1. Go to Settings → Smart Dropdowns
  2. Open Vehicle data region
  3. Select your market (e.g., United States)
  4. FitmentPro re-syncs the storefront filter to the new catalog

The cascade, storefront filter and fitment rules are all scoped to the chosen region — EU and US vehicle data never mix, so customers only see vehicles relevant to your store.

14. eBay Sync & Auto-Sync

If you already maintain vehicle compatibility on eBay, you can bring it into Shopify instead of re-entering it.

Connecting eBay

  1. Go to Settings → eBay
  2. Click Connect eBay account and authorize FitmentPro in the new tab
  3. Once connected, your marketplace (eBay.de or eBay.com) is shown

Running a sync

  1. Go to Bulk → Import from eBay
  2. Choose whether to add to existing fitment or overwrite it
  3. Start the sync — compatibilities are matched to products by SKU (K-Type for eBay.de, ePID for eBay.com)
  4. Progress is shown on the job page; unmatched SKUs are reported

Auto-Sync

With Auto-Sync enabled, FitmentPro re-pulls your eBay compatibilities on a schedule, so new listings and updated fitment keep flowing into your storefront without a manual import. You can still run a manual sync at any time.

15. myFitment Import (US)

US shops can import fitment directly from a myFitment.com CSV export.

  1. Set your market to United States (Settings → Smart Dropdowns → Vehicle data region)
  2. Export your fitment from myFitment.com as CSV (Year, Make, Model, Submodel, Trim, Engine, plus your SKU)
  3. Go to Bulk → Import and upload the file — the myFitment format is detected automatically
  4. Review the matches; each row is matched to US vehicles by make, model, year and engine displacement
  5. Confirm the import — rules are applied to your products by SKU

Rows that can't be matched to a vehicle are reported as errors so nothing is dropped silently.

16. SEO Vehicle Pages (Enterprise Plus)

Publish crawlable "shop parts by vehicle" landing pages on your own store domain — shoppers (and Google) drill down Make → Model → Generation → Engine → Year, and every page lists the real products that fit. Configured under SEO Pagesin the app.

How it works

  • Pages live at your-store.com/apps/fitment/parts/… and render with your store's currency and language.
  • They only show vehicles in your selected market that you actually sell parts for — never the full catalog, so there are no empty pages.
  • Each page has its own title, description, canonical URL and structured data (breadcrumbs) for clean indexing.

Setup

  1. Open SEO Pages, turn the directory on, optionally set a URL slug and custom CSS, and save.
  2. Add the Browse parts by vehicle theme block to your footer or homepage so the pages get discovered.
  3. Submit the provided sitemap URL in Google Search Console.
